How Does Consignment Work?

We only accept "gently" used outdoor equipment and brand name outdoor apparel brands. Items must be clean and in working condition and still have useful life remaining.

✓ We Accept:

Quality outdoor brands like Patagonia, Rab, Black Diamond, Mountain Equipment, Kuhl, Mont-bell, Prana, Marmot, Mountain Hardwear, Outdoor Research, MSR, and Chaco.

✗ We Do NOT Accept:

  • Fashion brands (Old Navy, GAP, Calvin Klein, Nike, Under Armour, Carhartt)
  • Team sporting goods, apparel, or equipment (soccer, football, lacrosse jerseys)
  • Exercise equipment (treadmills, weights)
  • Items that are DIRTY, RIPPED, TORN, have HEAVY WEAR, STRONG ODORS, or are MISSING PARTS

Important: All items requiring batteries must include batteries for testing. All tents will be set up in shop to ensure condition. Please wash and clean all clothing and gear before bringing it to 3ROC.

Pricing / Payments

The sale price will be negotiated between you and staff. Generally prices will be no greater than 70% of original MSRP.

  • $0-299: 60% store credit or 50% cash
  • $300-$599: 70% store credit or 60% cash
  • $600+: 75% store credit or 70% cash

Store credit is placed on accounts the month following sale, within the first 10 days. Cash payouts available via check (pickup in store) or PayPal upon written request to gear@3riversoutdoor.com. Allow 48 hours for payout preparation.

3ROC is NOT able to and WILL NOT make payouts in CASH.

Discounts

Items may be discounted at 3ROC's discretion starting on the 1st of the month following consignment:

  • 10% off after 60 days
  • 20% off after 90 days
  • 30% off after 120 days

Terms

Items remain the property of the consignor until sold. 3ROC has no liability for loss, theft, damage, or destruction of consigned items. Consignor may pick up items at any time with advanced notice.

After five months: 3ROC will send an email notification of UNSOLD ITEMS. Items NOT picked up within two weeks become property of 3 Rivers Outdoor Company and will be donated to a local charity.

Agreement Questions

1. Do you wish to pick-up or donate any unsold items after five months? *

Unsold items for donation are currently provided to Bridge Outreach of Pittsburgh to be handed out to local individuals in direct need.

2. Do you confirm all items brought in for consignment are solely owned by you, you have the full authority to sell all items, and no items have been stolen, borrowed, or have a lien against them? *

3. Do you wish to donate your earnings to a local charity? If so, 3ROC will match your donation and 100% of the item's sale will be donated to the current local nonprofit partner. *
